The Discobus is the piece of Ibiza nightlife infrastructure that decides whether your week is expensive or merely expensive. It is not glamorous, it is not a private transfer, and it will not save a bad itinerary. But choosing a hotel on the right line can remove two or three €25–€40 taxi decisions from every club night.
The mistake is treating every club as if it is close to every resort. It is not. Amnesia and UNVRS sit on the San Antonio road. Hï and Ushuaïa are in Playa d'en Bossa. DC-10 is by the airport. The right base is the one that gets you to the nights you actually booked without a fight at dawn.

The 2026 routes
The official Discobus 2026 service page says the core service runs from 1 June to 30 September. It lists four lines: D1 between San Antonio, UNVRS, Amnesia, Pacha and Ibiza; D3 between San Antonio, UNVRS, DC-10, Ushuaïa, Hï and Playa d'en Bossa; D2 between Playa d'en Bossa, Ibiza and Pacha; and D4 between Ibiza, Santa Eulària and Es Canar. The published 2026 fare range is €3.00 to €5.60 depending on the line.

Those are the published routes, not a promise that every departure fits your ticket time. Ibiza Spotlight notes that services can be 30–60 minutes apart and fill at peak periods. For opening and closing weeks, recheck the official timetable instead of relying on a blog or a screenshot.
Which line should you use?
For Amnesia and UNVRS: San Antonio is the cleanest fit. D1 serves both, and the same base keeps Eden and Es Paradís walkable. Ibiza Town also works for Pacha, but it does not make a 06:00 exit from Amnesia frictionless.
For Hï and Ushuaïa: sleep in Playa d'en Bossa. Both are walkable from a large number of beds, which is better than saving €15 per night on a room and then spending €30–€40 after every party. D3 is the useful back-up when your group wants DC-10 or San Antonio too.
For Pacha: Ibiza Town or Marina Botafoch wins because you can walk home. D1 and D2 make Pacha a plausible add-on from San Antonio or Playa d'en Bossa, but the one time to avoid a taxi rank is when the club closes.
The plan that works at 06:00
Treat the bus like an exit route, not a spontaneous idea. Before you go in, save the stop on your map, agree whether your group is taking the first bus or a taxi, and decide what happens if one person misses it. There is no cleverness in splitting a group of eight into two taxis at sunrise; it is just the usual way the cheap journey becomes the expensive one.
The cheapest hotel is rarely the cheapest base. Count the taxi home before you book it.
When a taxi is smarter
A taxi is still the right answer when you are travelling with luggage, when someone is not well, when the service has finished, or when the group can genuinely fill the car. It is not the right answer as the default for two people leaving a club on a route the Discobus already serves. Ask the driver for a rough estimate before leaving and use the licensed rank rather than an unmarked offer outside the club.
